This is old, but I found our post of it it tacked onto a post it shouldn’t have been. So here is the right one.matt and I did a podcast called Audio Hate

You need these in your Tom Milsom Catalogue, trust me.
(also individually posted by title to the blog)
You don’t know this, but I have a COUSIN, and his name is BEN MILSOM and he’s REALLY COOL and WORKS AT THE BBC doing things involved with VIDEO GAMES!
He’s created a podcast where he’s gathered together a number of experts in the field of indie games, and it’s called 99 Coins and it’s really really good! Like, genuinely engaging and interesting and just a joy to listen to. You might not even really be that into games, like me, but the inaugural episode ends up going into things like what it means to ‘sell out’, and what ‘indie’ really means, and it’s generally just a really good podcast about how to make good things that happens to be built around the framework of indie gaming.
You should totally give it a try is what I am saying.
They have a tumblr and a twitter, and you can subscribe to the podcast by clicking here!
Casio MT500 - Tom Milsom
I always liked this track, from the podcast Sept 26th, 2008.
Tom mentioned he “did more tracks like it two years ago”after he posted What Did You Do.
I think the podcast is a good example of that.

“hi, i was just listening to those podcasts you posted a couple of days ago and was wondering, in ‘my friends and i want to cry’ if you had the lyrics to ‘actual vocals holy crap’? cos i just cant figure some of them out. thanks :)”
Yeah, I had some trouble too. I’ll post what I have and see if anyone else has a better idea. It’s the end that’s the hard part (for me).
actual vocals holy crap (from Tom’s Podcast)
I don’t want to know
exactly where you go
but all I want to ask you
is if I can walk with you
and everybody says:
“If you can get away,
then why are you still here?”
becasue we all know
if they could that they would run
from this place
a universe of pipelines hid behind a human face
don’t try to say
that it’s just fine
I can read your body
it just takes a little time
when you need
(theve pan)?
just go
we need to go
Any help appreciated :)

TV Dismount - 12th Hour - IV (Emley Moor Mast) - Joe’s Nose - All My Little Words (The Magnetic Fields)
You’ll recognise “12th Hour” from the end of the “Truth or Fail” game on You Tube. I remember the first time I watched that I asked Tom where the “rest of it” was for this is longer, they cut it off - and I couldn’t remember where I’d heard it! I had to go looking and found it later and told him sorry I bothered him.
Yes, IV is supposed to go in and out like that, I think it’s interesting.
Tom made a video for All My Little Words too: with download.
I recently obtained permission to post these again (there are six).

I’ve Missed You - This Shore - Fourth Song For James Cleveland - Electro - Amen, Sister - Yes, Let’s Drum Together
Don’t let “I’ve Missed You” put you off of this, he does sound well drunk. The rest of the podcast is simply great!
“Let’s Drum Together” and the transition segments between the sections/songs that sound very much like Tom’s Geometry EP.
On July 31st, 2010 Tom made a video for This Shore:

indigogidni - lolwut - hooray for food - undersea - FM - this sounds familiar…
“lolwut” is fun with lots of electronic sounds.
I separated it into parts in my mind, the second half of it goes with Shallow Ocean for me, the “underwater” sound.
“hooray for food’ has a deeper sound.
“undersea” is an early version of “Reef” on Shallow Ocean, and “this sounds familiar…” is 2.2 {2.8(13) }

Casio MT500 - dryflowers - organ - electric wave
Starts off bouncy and happy with “Casio MT500” (using his casio MT500 would assume)
“dryflowers” is a sweet piece, available for free here: http://tommilsom.bandcamp.com/track/dryflowers
“organ” has several parts. The first being the track Levi Beamish used in his Blurred//BeatBox video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYKOrbQ5-xI
Second (an early version of what would become “Watermill”) and third continue the happy electronic vibe.
The fourth sounds like a string instrument and is lovely, though short.
You can get “electric wave” on bandcamp (for free!): http://tommilsom.bandcamp.com/track/electric-wave

Sampled glitch - vocoders - silly - Michael Aranda - noise/IDM - The fifth song for James Cleveland - actual vocals holy crap
(Podcast intro, with date, in robot voice.)
“sampled glitch” is just that, sounds like something got stuck.
“vocoders” is Tom talking, then something that is also labeled ‘what i’ve been working on today’ and was posted to effyeahnerfighters ages ago with the title of Technicolor Penguin.
“silly” starts off happy and then switches to very dark tones.
The section after that I’m not sure whether it goes with Michael Aranda or silly, or if it’s a segue/transition, but it’s lovely.
“Michael Aranda” has a some layering and has an almost eerie vibe.
“noise/IDM”, organ chords with a metal type sound. More eerie, but with an underlying it’s OK feel.
“The fifth song for James Cleveland” - I do believe this is a stylophone, and even if it isn’t it has a neat flowing sound like one, with some higher parts and a very nice build.
“actual vocals holy crap” It’s a very sad song. When he released “About Our Universeon Ephemera: Demos…, I had to go back and listen to this because they are musically similar. It also sounds a bit like something that could have been on Trockstuff
(this podcast is only 8 days after the first post of trockstuff).

Harry Potter: posted on 9/15/2008
Harry Potter - IDM - neverbeforereleased song I wrote for my father - 2.3 (8) - organ
Tom’s first podcast. The Harry Potter segments bother me, (as in they don’t seem to match the rest of it) but maybe you’ll like them.
The IDM is three seperate pieces that are very serious in my mind. So when he switches back to the Happy Potter thing it disorients me.
You may recognise parts of the the second IDM piece as it was used later in the Super Drums video.
“neverbeforereleased song I wrote for my father” is so pretty, I wish it would get a name - it’s very light/uplifting and the whistle(?) part adds to that.
2.3 (8) has what Tom has called an “underwater sound” and I put it with my Shallow Ocean tracks in my mind. It’s very soothing, and the build is just perfect.
“organ” is another soothing mellow/happy track. Sounds like something you’d hear in a melody/music box (though not a as high).
